After our wonderful stop in Lautoka, we had one day at sea before making our next port of call in Apia, Samoa.
We hadn’t planned anything with the ship or anything tour guides for this stop – so we were sort of winging it. Once we were off the ship, Celebrity had arranged for transport into the downtown area with some fun looking local school buses that had been converted into open air transports.

We got off at the visitor center and picked up a map. We knew we wanted to try the local beer, so I had asked the desk if there was a brewery nearby. Unfortunately, the brewery on the map just collected the used bottles – but they were able to suggest a restaurant nearby that had the beer available.
We walked over there and ordered drinks and food. It was a fun spot to people watch while we plotted out our next move. We ended up walking around and looking at a few shops and other historical looking buildings.
It was really humid and there wasn’t too much to do right in the downtown area. We were on the hunt for some souvenirs when we saw a McDonald’s. We decided to stop in to see if they had anything unique – and shockingly, this just might be one of the only international McDonald’s I’ve been to that had a menu similar to the US.
We started to make our way back to the ship slowly, stopping by a few more stores and a very cool church along the way. It was a nice change of pace to not have too much planned,

We relaxed back on the ship and enjoyed one of the ship’s productions of Alice in Wonderland in Eden.
